Another Price Hike?

There is currently no confirmation that a price rise is imminent. Porsche will update the confuserator when and if they increase prices. This thread was created because of a conversation that I had a few weeks ago with a VW and an Audi SE.

When did your OPC say you'll be given a build date?Tidesurge3 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 3:05 pmNo, daughter has placed her order on an A3 so not conversing with anybody. They were both pretty adamant that a price increase was coming in Oct and the 3rd was mentioned by the Audi SE. Obviously that didn’t happen so I don’t know what’s happening. I will not be counting my chickens just yet but I live in hope that it was just SE bs to get us to place the order asap. Deep down I think they were being genuine.PorscheMack wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 1:18 pmAre you still conversing with Audi/VW on this?Tidesurge3 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 9:03 am No change anywhere this morning. Would two SE’s from two different garages tell us porkie pies to get my daughter to place an order asap? The Audi SE told us things change all the time. I was sat in an RSQ3 and he told me that the model was being pulled on the Tuesday, sure enough that model disappeared from the web site on the Tuesday. Anyway so far so good, let’s hope it stays like this.

Last time I spoke to the SE he said it would be Dec/Jan for lockdown. He did call me in June offering a lockdown for a Sep delivery but I was supposed to be out of the country from Sep-Feb with work so at the time that didn’t work for me. It turns out I have not gone away as I have had a bit of a health scare that came from left field so I could have taken the Sep slot. I have always been the driver for the March delivery, not the SE. Footnote, when I refused the Sep slot he did say Porsche may increase prices before I locked down.

To be honest I'm expecting an increase before year end. Unfortunately, should that be the case I'll be cancelling my order. On a separate subject noticed you've selected the NCO PASM in your spec. By doing this you loose the ability to lower the car 10mm which - I think- is part of what a GTS is about. What's your thinking behind this?Tidesurge3 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 9:59 am Last time I spoke to the SE he said it would be Dec/Jan for lockdown. My thinking was that I was confused as to what I was selecting. And this SPEC was built whilst at the OPC with the SE in attendance who did not really explain the difference’s. Saying that some on here have commented that this is their preferred way to go. I think I will be reverting to the GTS configuration at lockdown.

Make sure you send it over to your OPC well ahead of lockdown to update their system, and confirm the change has taken place.Tidesurge3 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 07, 2023 10:35 am My thinking was that I was confused as to what I was selecting. The lockdown is at the factory, not the OPC - and sometimes that lockdown date comes without the factory telling the OPC.
Or, even if the OPC does know it, the sales associate fails to pass it on.
Many on here, including myself, had a 'surprise lockdown' when they were not told their lockdown date. I had to chase and was told the spec was locked two weeks ago! Luckily they had my most up to date spec.
And yes, untick that no cost option which removes the GTS specific suspension!

Given the surplus stock and short lead times they'd be fools to increase prices now.
