If I accelerate hard from first gear the car skips.
Once up to speed seems OK.
If I accelerate slowly the skipping is not there, any ideas?
Is it the transfer Box?

Is this a new "thing".

Could it just be the icy roads and cold tyres??

I've noticed while pulling out of a junction, is feels like the drivetrain is skipping a bit. Only just started doing it.

OP. do you mean the wheels are spinning or does it feel like a slipping clutch i.e. a slippage in the transmission somewhere?

...and wab172uk, what model, year, mileage?

Had something similar on our '17 SD. Felt like slipping on a patch of gravel. OPC changed the xfer box.

Are you sure its not just crabbing? Mine is doing it a lot more due to the cold weather - as the tyres are so wide and temperature so low they are skipping in tight turns and pulling out into right hand junctions due to low grip.

In fact another post reminded me that it was on this forum that i learned about the Ackermann effect - definitely a thing that is very noticeable with temperatures in low c like now where i am.
