Avoid a Macan reg before Mar 2016 as these had a different central screen.

Go for a Gen 2 model either S or GTS if budget allows.
I thought the bigger/wider screen came in with Gen2 end of 2018 and remained the same into Gen3?

What changed screen-wise in 2016?
The simple answer to your question is nothing. The changes were all behind the screen. The very first PCM (which is what was fitted to my 2015 SD) was not upgradeable. I think aftermarket upgrades might have existed.

Fair comment. But what if you don't want or feel the need for a V6?

I think OP has already said they are looking for a V6 (and prior car was an M340i)

In which case, my original comment is valid no? So...
"....I'd start with your engine decision (V6) then model variant (S or GTS?) then you can see what you have as standard (PASM standard so no need to specify) and add stuff from there... (Air or Steel)"

Think we are probably talking the same thing in round about ways or may be I'm not explaining very well. I'm sure the OP will get the gist

PASM was only a standard fitment in the Gen 1 Turbo and GTS.

The S that I drove back in late 2015 DID NOT have PASM, it did have 21” wheels and the ride and handling was cr4p. The S performance of this gen 3.0 was OK, but has to be worked if fun is on the list of must haves. The Gen 2 S or GTS is probably the best buy unless one can find a Gen 1 Turbo PP in which case this is the one to go for, do note that the current GTS has the same power as the Turbo PP.

The fact that PASM is standard on a GTS, the sweet handling Macan variant should tell you something. In fact it should smack you right between the eyes, PASM is a Mandatory Must Have in any Macan if ride, handling, comfort are important.

If all anyone wants is a shopping trolley with a badge then a basic no frills 2.0 Macan will fit the bill.

The PCM changes is Gen 1 were a slightly different screen and button arrangement, nothing really significant but Car Play became available when the Connect+ option was included in the build.

Thanks!
Looking at an "S" so Coils and PASM will be standard and that will suit me I reckon.

You tried ALL the seats and preferred the 8-ways?

18 way = too high a bolster for me.
Trying others soon. I'm only 7 days into this so not many test drives :?

That was my initial view when trying seats. However, I found that the 18-way seats were actually incredibly comfortable, so I specified them in the end. No regrets!
