I bet you won't get much change out of £2k :(
I reckon a decent smart repair specialist would sort that for much less.
Looks beyond SMART repair to me.

The dent is easy enough. Light scratches polish out. The deep scratches may be beyond smart repair. If it’s not then £500-£750. If it goes to a body shop then £2-3k. Either way NOT worth involving insurance.

Talking of which... my Dent Man, Ray, came out a few months ago to sort a door crease in my wife's (ex) BMW door.
Used little attachments glued to the body, then a puller, then tapped it back into perfect 100% shape.
He'd looked at a tiny dent in my 981 rear wheel arch (double skinned) 7 years ago and couldn't do it, but this time he used the same glued method and got it perfect. 20 years as a Jag panel beater and he's a genius. I also have a marvel paint man.

Having said that OPC Wolverhampton did some smart dent (inner door sills) and paint (sills; bumper scratch) repairs to the Macan pre-purchase and they're 100% too. I'm guessing Jon's OPC has similar visiting specialists weekly.

It’s a bit beyond a smart repair tbh as the denting is on the crease of the wheel arch as well as rear panel. A really good one might be able to do it but the excellent guy I used to use has retired!
We now use a private body repair specialist which is very reasonable and did a great job on my sons car with similar damage for £480 plus VAT.
It’s going for a quote tomorrow and am expecting £500 ish plus VAT. Probably a little more than a smart repairer but not the end of the world 🤞

Keep us posted and let us know how the conversation you have with wife later goes when you tell she can only use the dog car for a few months as punishment

It was £800 to respray my Boxster's bonnet. Given what's going on to yours across panels I don't think what you've been quoted is too bad

I’m more than happy tbh and as long as the quality of finish is similar to what they did with my sons car, it will be a bargain I think. 👍
