So after months on the waiting list I'm approaching lock down, for March delivery (fingers crossed!).

Looking to finalised the spec and as always every time I go on the configurator it gets more expensive

I've got two specs that I'm deciding between, essentially weighing up the cost of GTS Sport pack. Would appreciate any thoughts/comments.

Current spec
https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PRK5DAX8

GTS sport spec
https://configurator.porsche.com/porsche-code/PRDMSLT5

Essentially the GTS sport pack gives me a few things over the current spec that I've had, a few are nice to have but I wouldn't pay more for, the ones below are the key points (for me anyway):

PTV+ - this was something I was considering all along. I'm not convinced it will make that much difference on the road (PEC instructor also suggested this), one thing I don't like about my current car (335d touring xdrive) is that it doesn't feel rear wheel drive, so if PTV+ helps in that regard I would select it. The Macan's that I've tested haven't had this and I love the drive of the car - but conscious that until you push-on on familiar roads its difficult to really compare. That said on the PEC day there was some spirited driving and the car was great (it wasn't equipped with PTV+).

Race-Tex headlining - probably not something I would spec on its own but it does look very nice.

Dials - I really like the darker dials shown with the GTS Sport pack. I can't see how to get these separately so have gone with the silver. It's not a huge £ item but one of the main drivers in thinking about the sport pack - is there a way to get the darker dials on their own?

Tyres - One of the reasons I didn't speck the sport pack to begin with was the Corsa tyres. I don't think these are necessary on the Macan, but how impractical are they in terms of wear and also grip levels in wet/autumn/winter conditions? Can you spec the standard tyre (or wheel), I can't seem to work that out on the configurator?

Any help appreciated!

It's hardly a lot more given you relative spec - and you get the nice wheels thrown in too!

The roof lining would be nice so also help with the marginal extra

Just need to get it in a proper colour now!

Oh and I'm not sure about the tyres but I'd be wary of that on an SUV and I find it aquaplanes badly anyway and that is on the better Michelins

Agreed sports pack in relation to alternative spec (given price difference) is a no brainer for me. Colour is entirely subjective and you should go with what you like, having said that Volcano makes a Macan look about as dreary as every other grey SUV 🤔

This is three month old demo with GTS sport pack and run in mileage available for £10k under list plus a further £2k VED saving so over £12k saving on new 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, agree its not a huge % increase but that is how I got to this spec in the first place so wary of going a bit too far...

Agree on the tyres, I find it a bit odd these are part of a standard pack spec for an SUV so interested to know how anyone with them finds them.

Don't start on the colour - that's the one thing I was certain on! I've seen a couple on the dark blue and that does look very nice though!

Good spot - seems a bit of a deal that one. There does seem to be a lot of variation between second hand prices with some still around list and others well under.

The other advantage of the Sport Pack is that you can have Python Green and there is no excuse not to!

I have PTV+ on mine and love it. When you throw it into a corner, and/or get on the throttle out of one, you can really feel it working to pivot the car on it's axis - feels like very controlled oversteer. In the wet, it results in actual oversteer which is also good fun. (I'm sure there is more oversteer to be had, but I don't dare take off the traction control.)

You won't notice it/use it pottering to the shops or cruising down the motorway at 70mph - so it depends what driving you do. If you think you'll be making the effort to visit some good driving roads and want all the performance you can get, it's a good option. If that's not you, probably not worth it.

One other thing I'd say - with the GTS sport pack you get the black painted lower front splitter, side skirts and rear valance. I think this looks horrible and replaces beautiful Porsche metallic paint with ,effectively, black plastic. I really don't understand this option. It reminds me of base-spec cars in the 90's and early 2000's when they didn't paint the bumpers.

However, other's really like it - going as far as to purposely spec it on a car that otherwise doesn't have the full GTS pack.

I'd say see if you can find one to have a look at in the flesh and see if you still like it.

I also spotted that one, it’s a demo vehicle it will not be released until the end of March and then at whatever miles. It’s common practice for some to advertise beforehand.
