Just received a report on my pano roof drains , my independent guy tells me that the drains were clear and the
End fittings were already trimmed .
I did have a new windscreen fitted in December but it has withstood jet washing so I still lean towards the roof drains as the deflector was soaking wet and indeed partly frozen the next day.
Is there any experience with freezing around the drains ?

Surely if the roof drains are trimmed it would invalidate the warranty?

When mine had the roof drains cleared in November I asked my OPC if they would trim the end of the tubes and remove the non return valves. They said they are not allowed to do that but there is a modification to the bottom of the tubes that they have to do. It was my understanding that it is a slight reroute of the rear tubes and enlarging the bottom of the tubes and valves somehow.
That's on a Gen 1 though.

Picked mine up earlier this week. They ended up stripping out the seats and carpets to ensure it was completely dry inside. Then cleared the drains, cleaned the sunroof, and lubricated all seals with kyrtox. No charge to me given the maintenance history shows this was all apparently done 5 months ago in August just before I bought the car. Hopefully the problem doesn't return but if it does, it'll keep on going back. Very poor defect for a premium car to have. My E46 convertible hasn't leaked once in the 18 years I've had it and it's a 21 year old car now!
