How're you getting on with the Turbo, Arif?

Thanks for asking FSL - as a daily driver it probably is the complete sports car. Devastatingly fast, handles superbly, and an interior that's now luxurious with all the modern gizmos including front axle lift for those ever increasing speed humps. What I like is that it now recognises where I regularly raise the front end and now automatically does it!
I think it has a more aggressive driving set up - harsher ride and more planted than my 991.1 Turbo S. That maybe the way I've specced this car - I have PASM (10mm lower) than a standard Turbo.
My only criticism of both the 991 and 992 is that they have really grown in size, the 996/997 feel far more go-karty than the more modern 911s.
Sorry for attaching some gratuitous photos

Great pics and beautiful car. Am a fan of arctic. Think I'd have problems keeping my speed down given what it can do
Completely agree re the size. Nothing to be done about it but I do prefer 997 / 718 dimensions. It's strange when one looks at the actual difference in terms of cms, but one definitely feels it a fair bit of the time in reality

This is really interesting re size. Having never driven a 911 before getting my 992, I always feel how dainty it is!FirstSeaLord wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 11:52 am Great pics and beautiful car. Am a fan of arctic. Think I'd have problems keeping my speed down given what it can do

By comparison to various BM’s etc I find it a pretty small car, bigger though than our 718 obviously.

Nice little video. Thanks, Steve.
Purosangue = pure blood = thoroughbred.
Even at £314k before options, they’re all sold out!
Probably ideal for a rich person who’d like a Range Rover and a Ferrari sports car rolled into one!

The comments re relative size intrigue me - at 1808mm my 991.2 Carrera S is exactly the same width as the equivalent 997 , and just 7mm wider than my previous 718 Boxster S . It is a big longer - 12cm longer than the Boxster and 3.9 cm longer than the 997. Hardly a huge difference! The 992 is a bit bigger because only the wider by 5 cm body is available, but these are still not big cars. The Ferrari is way bigger than any of them!

I think the 992 is generally larger & heavier than the 991. This is a trend that has continued pretty much since the first update to the 911. It has happened to most cars (e.g. VW Golf, Mini, BMW 3-Series). A photo showing a 992 beside a 1960s 911 emphasises how big the 911 has grown over 60 years.

I’m not greedy. I’d be happy with one of these.

That's exactly my point. When you look at the actual cm's it seems like nothing - but in real life it can feel like a lot more. Width is the most important from my perspective.Zinzan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 2:57 pm The comments re relative size intrigue me - at 1808mm my 991.2 Carrera S is exactly the same width as the equivalent 997 , and just 7mm wider than my previous 718 Boxster S . My 992 GT3 is 185.2cm wide. The 718 is something like 180. It's nothing - but I feel it on the road, squeezing in gaps. Completely unexplainable, especially when I see that my Macan is 190.2 wide. Again, nothing in the scheme of things but it feels like a world of difference (to me anyway) on the road
