Skipping/hopping - loss of traction

Hi guys,

Particularly when cold, the front tyres of my new Macan S briefly, but consistently, skips/hops and jolts while turning on full lock - being apparent when reversing off my drive and then when I arrive to turn right at the T junction at the end of our cul-de-sac. Later turns are fine. Mine has 21 inch wheels wearing Pirelli P Zeros.

I've seen previous reports of this "Porsche Characteristic" from posts dating back to 2014 that suggest it only affects some cars - just wondering how common this annoying trait is in Gen 3 Macans ? I know I'm special but..........

Cheers, Simon

Ackerman effect. Our 992 and particularly 718 both do it a lot when temps are say below about 10-12 degrees.
My gen3 Macan S didn’t do it but my neighbour’s GTS does 🤷‍♂️

A pretty common and totally normal Porsche Characteristic, my 'S' does this also, it's linked to full lock which causes this, just Google 'Porsche Ackerman effect' this will explain it better

I have a Merc GLC AMG43 that does this. No idea it had a term. When the temp gets above 10°C it doesn't happen.

My VX220 did this, as does my Boxster at all temperatures but only in reverse. I've just put it down to fat tyres!

Yeah, my S does it too. But feels more like the rear than the fronts.

I have a 150° right turn junction very close to home on one of only 2 possible routes to the outside world. My Gen2 did this from new on 18" wheels with Hancook tyres (only got 13,500miles from them) it has not been noticeable on the Gen3, 20" wheels & Pirellis. By the end of today the Pirellis will have >13k on them and not yet close to being worn out. Conclusions?
