Don’t believe the hype Nick. I can testify first hand, it really doesn’t, or at least not to my satisfaction.Nuclear Nick wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 4:31 pmThe difference is that PPF ‘self repairs’ with a little applied heat or even warm sunlight so swirl marks disappear.

Mine certainly does on my Arctic Grey BGTS 4.0. I wish I had applied it to my Macan.Jon A wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:18 pmDon’t believe the hype Nick. It absolutely does self repair swirls, at least on my Xpel Plus it does. Had my black gloss side blades done recently with a few marks on one section. Next day with car sitting in the sun they had gone.
And I’m real fussy about paintwork

I’ve had both this macan and previous cayenne fully ppf, and there are pros and cons to both.
But let’s not get into it on here. I was going to start a thread on my ppf cars in the detailing section so we can discuss there.
Op. And large drying micro fibre cloth will do the job adequately. Just get a decent well known brand.

Believe it or not Yes. I was all ready to get the hair drier out on them but following day after a sunny few hours they had gone (black definitely absorbs the heat quicker). I have also had a few surface bits on my bonnet from stones seen during cleaning that I’ve put the hair drier on and they’ve gone. A tiny hole also became invisible after working some heat into it, although perforation is not technically healable.

Yeah, I use some large drying towels I buy in the US when I’m there, otherwise I use Meguiars ones. I got onto those when I had my black Merc but still use the same regime on my white and silver cars.
Front end PPF for me. You have to watch doing the sides in case you ever need any PDR work with them needing to use pullers.
