All Porsche, Audi, Bentley and VW cars have been impounded at the ports after a technician found a Chinese component in their vehicles which is apparently against a USA law. This was the price that VW group paid to be able to sell on the Chinese market. You will find your Macan Chinese component under the bonnet.

Found in today's Financial Times

Seems to be true. Here’s a link to the article. It says it is a small electronic component produced in Western China, used in the control unit, and it may have breached the law against forced labour. It seems the manufacturer of the part is further down the supply chain and VW was not aware of the ultimate source for the component. It affects about 1,000 vehicles and the part is being replaced before the cars are delivered.

Probably not a big story but there it is.

Ok, so no problem with gazebos and pergolas? Sounds like it’s not a full-on crisis then.
