Hi all,
Just a quick introduction as I have recently picked up a Brand New second hand to me 2015 65 Porsche Macan 2.0T .. and I couldn't be happier ! I'm surprised by the car coming form a BMW F80 M3 just how punchy it is for a big car and small engine !
Naturally, I can't leave anything alone and intend to change a few things so no doubt ill be seeking some advise or hunting through the classified parts section ... I know this wont be to everyone's taste
I will admit having only picked up the car on 16th Feb 2024 ... I have already ordered or sorted the below ....
21" Sport Felgen Black staggered alloy wheels
Tinted front windows
'Porsche' puddle lights
LED number plate lights
and im on the hunt for some wheel spacers also and also some exhaust upgrades ... so watch this space
Pics of how she was and is now

Interesting thought. I had test drives of Macans with and without sidesteps before finalising my specification. My wife initially thought sidesteps would be useful (we have them on a Freelander) but having tried the Macan decided against them. Now, of course, she's changing her mind slightly and wonders whether we should have specified them. Perhaps having 18-way seats is relevant.

They are more for style.
They were on a loaner I had and are to narrow to be useful as a step.
Getting out you have to remember to take a large step out otherwise you end up brushing your trouser leg against them.
My Mrs is small and she struggled getting in and out with them.
Pity, as they do look good.

I have the sidesteps. I agree that you have to stretch a little to avoid rubbing your calf on them.Col Lamb wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 7:30 amThey are more for style.

However, for me, and the reason I specced them is:
* Helps to install and access the roof bars. Particularly when tying down the kayak, snowboards, skis...
* Makes it easy to wash the roof
* Help avoid car park / shopping trolley damage
* I don't, but they can make getting in and out easier for those of a smaller stature
* Handy footrest when changing into / out of outdoor footwear when taking the dog to the woods

So the car actually just came with them on, but I don't actually mind them (I would prefer them in black personally) but functionally they are great for what I use the car for having to young kids just helps them saves me having to lift them in or have them use the kick plates for climbing in
