I have just looked on the German website and all of the Macan ICE models are marked as sold out.

Isn’t it Racetex, which is fluffy plastic 😁

Anyway surely you’ll be driving with your riding gloves on so shouldn’t matter 😉

It’s alcantara the same as my old steering wheel, it’s just the hand grips that are leather. Why would it be slippery if kept clean?

No problem
Does the fabric on the steering wheel/gear box not get grimy and stained quickly with use?
Yes.
Plus it feels slippery. Odd I know, as you'd think it would be more grippy than standard smooth leather. It's not.
Don't be tempted.
Are you talking from experience? My car had an alcantara wheel from the factory and it never felt slippery. Yes, it requires steam cleaning every so often, but if kept clean they look and feel great.

I have just checked with my sales guy, he can no longer order an S for me and my car will go into production end of next week.
So you’ll be seeing my Carmine Red T in April.

Thank you everybody for taking your time and expressing your opinions, much appreciated!

Yes. We had a new loan Macan with alcantara steering wheel for two weeks and it lacked grip compared to our leather one. Just a daft gimmick.

Not a gimmick and I love it. I've lived with an alcantara wheel for three years, much prefer over leather, but thats just me.
