My 981 OE Pirelli PZeros showed cracking in the tread and sidewall at 2 1/2 years...

Pirelli sent an engineer to inspect the already replaced tyres and commented that the rubber compound was faulty, leading to the cracks.

They sent a cheque to the value of the Goodyears I'd put on. Excellent customer service.

All tyres are prone to cracking / ozone perishing over time.

Avon tyres are no more prone to this than any other make.
So you wouldn't be surprised at having to replace them after only 4 years?
Not if they had been exposed to strong sunlight and / or under inflated. You could though ask your tyre dealer to send them back to the manufacturer under complaint for adjudication.

Don't get a lot of strong sunlight in Essex!

Possibly the owner fell ill shortly after purchase, or died, and the family were in no hurry to dispose of the car...

My 2020 992 had done 900 miles when I bought it last summer. Owner had taken delivery but then emigrated leaving car behind in his previous home.
It had a two year service at 400 miles from memory and then I insisted on a full 4 year service (early) before I collected. The car has been serviced twice and had more oil than Kuwait plus a break fluid change and a change of plugs!
It has run like a dream as you would expect 😊
