In 2022 I sold (to a dealer) my 19 plate Macan S for £8k less (12% loss) than what I paid for it. I am sure that was an exceptional residual and was achieved because of exceptional world circumstances at the time.

My question is . . . if I had bought a Macan S in 2022 and sold it today, how much would I lose / what percentage of the purchase price would I get (the residual)?

Why do I ask? In 22 I bought a Tesla and 2 years later the residuals are painful, in todays world, is it the same for all cars (electric and ICE)?

I think the past year has seen residuals drop to somewhere near where they were pre pandemic for ICE cars, p/exd my MB C classs in April 2023 for £21,500 and by Nov/Dec last year the valuation was under £15k , they seem to have stabilised since then. EV's are all having a bad time , there was an article on Whatcar yeaterday , 10 most depreciating cars , and most were EVs and the worst was the Nissan Leaf , DS3 and Cosa E retaining only 29%- 30% after 3years and 36,00 0miles.(I'd be crying)

You would be far better placed if you had stuck with a Macan, dependant on where you sold it and spec it should return today between 60-65%.

No, EVs are suffering very high rates of depreciation right now. This is largely because of the rapid pace of product development; newer EVs are significantly better than those built say a year ago. Plus there's oversupply of some EVs - Peugeot, Citroen and MG particularly, with brand new cars listed on Autotrader at up to 37% off RRP.
Macan S collected 4 Dec 2017 - Jet Black, 20" SportDesign, Agate/Pebble, 18-way, Pano roof, Bi-Xenons with PDLS, Surround View, PASM, PS+, spare wheel, towbar.

I wonder if that will apply to the new Macan / will the Macan EV deprecaite more (how much more) than the Macan ICE? If so, at what point does buying and running a Macan EV cost more than buying and running a petrol Macan?
