Not personally looking for an Ackerman Affect debate  but trying to establish whether anybody has gone from a 21” wheel to a 20” and this has eliminated the affect?

Had it on our Cayenne running 21’s and got it in the GTS, but never had it on our Macan T

Don’t want to buy a set of 20’s if it doesn’t fully address the issue.

I don't believe that the effect is an issue at all. The car doesn't get damaged in any way

It is just the combination of various physical geometry factors will mean that wheels will scrub more when on full lock and even more so when the weather is cold and sidewalls less forgiving . Having lower profile tyres just means there is less sidewall flex and so it is more noticeable.

No issue with this on my BMW X4 M40i with low profile run flats, but it’s horrendous on my ( now ex ) Mercedes C63 and my wife’s present Mercedes GLA 35.

It’s more the excess scrubbed edges on the tyres I’m keen to avoid rather than the noise. It’s full lock in and out of its parking spot at home

My 2018 MB C class came with 19" wheels and only had the Ackerman effect when the temparature was below circa 7deg . I ran 18" winters and no Ackerman effect at all.

My previous Macan had 20” wheels, with Michelin tyres, and that experienced bad Akerman effect. My current Macan has 21” wheels, with Pirelli tyres, and the Akerman effect isn’t as bad.

I have 20” wheels on my S with P Zero tyres and don’t get any Ackerman, even at low temperatures

I get it less on current Scorpion Verdes than i did on the original P Zero Rossos, Don't know if that tells you anything useful!

Just because they scrub whilst parking will have no effect on the wear rate compared to going round any bend at 70mph. Chill 😁

I have 20” wheels on my 911 and suffer noticeable Ackerman effect in cold weather, when leaving home, which involves a three point turn, pretty much on full lock.

The only thing that has avoided the issue is when I swapped to winter tyres. ❄️
