I'm sure the sticker said 0w30 as I remember buying a 1L previously ... but I'll have a look ...

Well, the manual isn't immediately clear and so I stupidly phoned the OPC to double check (as you say, what do THEY know!). I would have gone with the manual plus sticker, i.e. 0W-30 but for the insistence of Josh at the OPC again that it's definitely 0W-20.Jon A wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 3:15 pmDo you mean the manual or the engine sticker? OPC could say either and still be wrong. I would have thought the sticker on the engine is correct, backed up by the manual saying the sticker supersedes the manual if different.
I’m not sure what the OPC says is relevant??
I've raised a ticket with PGB to ask their tech services and also asked 'our' gold tech at OPC Wolves to give me a call. Will either happen?

My sticker also says Porsche C30 0w-30 as in the photo above.

Good call. It’s always interesting to discover how much (or little) the OPC does know!DJMCUK wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 3:22 pmWell, the manual isn't immediately clear and so I stupidly phoned the OPC to double check (as you say, what do THEY know!). Andy Evans, gold tech at Wolves OPC has called me back...
"Always go with the sticker" he says. 0W-30 it is but, as has been said, he confirmed the 1/2 litre of 0W-20 won't make any difference. He wasn't that surprised the 'system' in parts which brings up the spec for the individual engine (or does it) didn't concur with the factory build sticker. Very reassuring, as with all things Porsche. Sticker wins.
He's going to give Josh a slap.

As I understand it the first Gen2 V6 cars including mine were issued with a C30 sticker under the bonnet but 12 months later Mobil's advice to Porsche changed to C20 for typical uk temperatures. In both my Nov 2020 and Nov 2022 oil services the invoices show my OPC filled the car with C20.
In practice the difference between C20 and C30 is marginal and relates to protection in the warm up cycle C20 giving more and using either should cause no harm. What would cause harm is using A30 or A20 because of the petrol particle filter fitted to Gen2 and Gen 3 cars.
I suggest past the 1st oil service look to see what the opc/independent uses and stick to that

Stumbled across this link to Mobil UK oil selector whilst randomly surfing the internet.
https://www.mobil.co.uk/en-gb/engine-oil
It suggests 0W-20 for 3.0 Gen 2 and 0W-30 for 2.9
