I believe some of you have misunderstood my query, I use Sainsburys 97 RON, 2 RON lower is 95 RON.
Only two ron ron , only two ron ron lower.

Is that indicating that the S doesn't use petrol at all? Not my experience!
RTFM trips up again :D

Just received the following from Esso so together with 6p off via PCGB card this looks like a good option to me.

New Esso Synergy Supreme 99 petrol triple cleans and protects your engine โ€“ and includes more molecules engineered to reduce friction in your engine and help moving parts work more efficiently.

Who can resist a well engineered molecule! Just be wary of the margin over unleaded charged by some franchised chains Esso branded EG Garages can be twice that of Rontec or Tesco.

Thanks Neil but my local Esso is run by Tesco so win win for me. Low price, another 6p off and great fuel.

Thought I had answered a lot of fuel stuff a while ago!

Sainsbury,s has a very unique arrangement with bp for fuel supply and always has. So despite it being a Sainsbury branded filling station and dispensers, if you look very very closely on a Sainsbury fuel delivery tanker you will see a little bp oil UK sign. So Sainsbury premium fuel is 97 Ron exact same as bp Ultimate 97 Ron.

I have said before the EN standard for fuel is so defined and strict its more or less the same when it comes out the refinery. Some slight differences on the additives and depending where the filling station is in the UK Ethanol content could be Zero, or up to 10% on 95 Ron fuel or up to 5% on the premium higher Ron fuels. The difference in fuel "Quality" is down to the housekeeping on each filling station.

paulmac, you mention "Great Fuel" ?? Maybe you could define that for me please?? Are you just speaking about low cost per L? Or some other fact?

Cheers GTB
