Hello,

I'm currently driving a 2013 E63 AMG which is coming up to the end of its term which I have loved throughout the course of my ownership, the sound, speed and build/interior have been great.

I'm finding it a very hard car to replace and am currently leaning towards a new Macan Turbo order, just wondering if anyone has done similar and how they find the car.
I would like something comfortable and quick really, I found the 991 Turbo S a bit harsh for daily duties and the Cayenne is a bit big for my wife, I would like her to be able drive my car if needed.

Ive not ordered the PSE as I think not much will match the AMG sound so is it really worth it?!

My provisional spec is below, is there anything you guys would recommend or remove, I have read online about the 18 way seats being not as good as the 14 way so will try and sit in both.

Jet Black Metallic

Black-Garnet Red two-tone leather interior with leather seats
Privacy glass
Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)
Monochrome black exterior package (high-gloss)
ParkAssist (front and rear) with Surround View
Panoramic roof system
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
Sport Chrono Package
Air suspension with self-levelling, ride-height control and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
21-inch Sport Classic wheels Exclusive
Seat ventilation (front)
18-way Adaptive sports seats incl. comfort memory package
Automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors
Lane Departure Warning with Lane Change Assist (LCA)
Light comfort package
Three-zone automatic climate control
Seat heating (front)
Interior Leather
Dashboard extended interior package in leather Exclusive
Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System
Mobile phone preparation

Thank you for your help.

I have the turbo (see my code) and it is a car with two sides. Comfortable and refined but then bonkers when you engage the hoodlum (sports plus) button.
I would urge you to think again about the PSE. It has been argued on here it can sound false and gives no benefit, but for a man coming from a fine E63 AMG you will undeniably agree the sound can make a car. You will not be disappointed, trust me.

Besides, you will change your mind umpteen times regarding specification if you keep reading this forum. It has been enjoyable, if expensive though.

Thanks for your replies, will add the exhaust option as you are right the sound is a huge part of the experience.

A couple more questions, what exactly does the pdls+ system do, I can't find a huge amount of info online, I understand it adjusts the range of the lights but is it similar to the Mercedes LED system where it will create a dark area behind a car whilst illuminating the edges with high beams and dim one side for oncoming traffic on unlit roads, I absolutely love this feature.

Also how do you find the performance of the turbo, prior to the E63 I had a V10 M6, I am hoping the 4wd system will make up for it being down on power by it being much more usable and not just me sat there with the traction control light on, my dealer says they are not expecting a turbo s?

Hi V10! Welcome!
Lights - I would have the PDLS+ again. Very good however I have had limited experience with the plus feature as it depends on the roads you are on and of course the circumstances. I am not sure if you will find the "it will create a dark area behind a car whilst illuminating the edges with high beams and dim one side for oncoming traffic on unlit roads" as I did not really notice this on the Macan like I was expecting. I would still spec it though.
For info on it you will find it here.. http://www.porsche.com/uk/models/macan/macan-turbo/safety/lighting-concept/

I'm afraid I can not help you with the performance of the Turbo. I let one pass me last week just to hear it and it sounds the dogs!Wink

Thanks for the welcome!

Sorry, I could have worded it better, here is an example of the system, it's a BMW video but works the same.

Hi v10 and welcome.

Hooray ,,Another turbo guy,,you wont regret the turbo im shure, as good as the merc is and sounds I dont think you'll fault the handling ability which in my opinion far outstrips the merc or the bmw you mention, , go to silverstone they'll show you..

Agree with Jon above! The 4WD really makes a difference and lets you put your foot down without you thinking when is the traction control is going to kick in. 'Planted' would be the word..
A bit of rear end slipping is good for fun but you soon get bored of it and when you have a 4WD system you really appreciate it.

I have the pdls+
It has main beam assist which dips the lights in built up areas & when it senses oncoming traffic. The headlamps swivel in the direction you're driving & little side lights come on at low speed to illuminate either sidebofvtge car. The latter you really notice & I think it's pretty nifty.
