Interesting - that's later than some manufacturers. I know that Skoda for instance tend to increment model years around Week 22/24, ie end May / early June.

We had to make some changes to the Cayman spec which is due in September as some options we wanted weren't available on the 2016 model. The OPC tried to get an earlier slot (pre August shutdown) but couldn't. So from that I'm assuming 2016 models start from when the factory reopens after the summer break which I believe was last week.

Mine arrived at the dealer early August for delivery 1st September abd it's a 2016 model. The dealer indicated a few of the changes, no price change.
