parked next to a Qashqai today.

In some lights, the Japanese box looked better. Especially from the back.

I wasn't even drinking!

I know what you mean Goron- if it didn't say Nissan on it... It's a well styled car. I actually considered one before ordering the Macan when I was going through an " I only really need a straightforward car" guilt moment.

What it does highlight to my mind is the bankruptcy of a lot of crossover design. Macan is one model that succeeds pretty well IMO and so is Qashqai. But here are precious few others at least in the small or mid-range crossover.

Problem with Qashqai is that there's no model at all that offers any real go. It's just this mindset that if you're in the market for this type of car then you definitely won't be interested in performance too. But Nissan/Infiniti QX60 might be another option as and when it appears, though it looks like Nissan have lost their styling mojo again there..

Gordon may not have been drinking but thats not to say he wasn't smoking....

Had a look at the Infinti range when looking to buy the Macan.... they need to do a lot of work on it when it appears as the reviews for the existing range arnt very good ..... very expensive to run apparently

I think there are a few nice SUV type cars out there just now - but they are not a Porsche, and let's face it, any of us who forks out the best part of £60k+ is looking for something a bit special, not what every other house on the street has, because if that is all we wanted we would have bought one.Wink

IMO Pprsche, JLR and the forthcoming Audis, have radically changed the rules by moving away from the workaday look albeit aimed at a whole different world. Likewise AM but a different world yet again
