Great trip, great write up so glad you and Anne enjoyed yourselves.

But come on Nick you could have tried harder. 19mpg I mean that is far to high ;)

Thanks Col!. Yes I know, should have done better than 19 mpg. Would have liked to have got it into single figures on some of those fantastic roads and passes, but I would have to have been on my own, if you know what I mean.

I felt for the biker we stopped to help. We've all done it at some time haven't we? This was on an uphill hairpin on Stelvio and fortunately there wasn't more traffic as it wasn't the weekend, but there were still quite a lot of bikes and it's always embarrassing when it happens. But that meant there was help available so the bike, a GSA, was quickly righted and we got him off the road where he was able to recover his composure before setting off again.

Sounds like a wonderful trip, and well described.

My other half wants to go to Italy when the dog's died - you've certainly given me some inspiration (for the trip, not killing the dog)....

The problem with a Road Trip like this is the Automatic Speed Limiting System that is inside the car, there is no way of turning it off or resetting it higher.

That last pic looks just like the one I took of the Hahntennjoch Pass. Looks amazing.

Wow! Great photos, Nick! Thanks for sharing. 😊

And I am sure that the biker was very grateful to his Good Samaritan. πŸ‘
