We have tried an SD and S Petrol. Turbo test drive tomorrow. I think the turbo is probably the car we want. I wonder what real world mpg people are getting from their turbo?

It depends on your driving. 25 mpg is to be expected on motorways but 18-20mpg around town.

Welcome Martin.
I have just completed 2200 miles in my Turbo and the actual mileage using the pump litres put into the tank is 20 mpg so far.
I would expect that to improve as the engine beds in more.
The SD that I had managed 34 mpg over the six months that I own that car.
The mpg shown in the MFD in the SD was indicating 10% more mpg that actuals, I have not looked at the MFD in the Turbo to see what that is showing.
I can throughly recommend the Turbo, an S on steroids.
Do take images of all the Macans you test drive and make a note of what extras the cars have, that will come in handy when you configure the Turbo.
Ring around OPCs to see what each is saying their wait time is, you may get lucky.
Place deposit, wait three weeks then contact Silverstone PEC to arrange the freebie 1/2 day session there, where you will drive the Macan around their dedicated circuits.
Spec lockdown is 6 weeks or so prior to the 3 day build, then transportation to the OPC can be between 7 and 30 daysor if you are really unlucky even longer, there have been issues of parts availability in the last year.

According to Fuelly, I've averaged 17.5mpg over 1029 miles tracked, but about 65% city traffic.
Over the same period, the car's computer reckons about 22mpg.

Thank you to everyone who has replied. I appreciate that fuel costs is a relatively small element of the total cost of ownership.
Dealer is quoting July delivery on a Turbo, October on a petrol S, November on a GTS and June on an SD.
I've run three 330d in a row not because they were more economical just because IMO they were the best engine for that car.
I don't feel the same about the Macan SD, fine car as it was I thought that the petrol S was better just needed working a bit hard to make progress, hence considering the turbo.
This is the spec I am considering can't go too mad because it will be a stretch as it is.

Is a spare wheel something you would use / require ?Yes that is something I missed off and would definitely order.
