I bought my second gen (2019) Macan S in July this year. I had noticed a slight 'kangarooing' when setting out on cold mornings. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it was repeatable. I also found that at slow speeds doing full-lock turns in either direction, the front tyres felt like they were running over very small speed bumps -- a regular thump-thump-thump when turning.
I booked it in for a week ago. Having searched on this forum I figured it could be the transfer box, so detailed my suspicions. The (lovely) lady who looked after me at the service dept. didn't think it was likely to be the Transfer Box, but it turned out that it was and they replaced it under warranty (score 1 for the forum!) She said the part would have been just under £2k before fitting costs so I'm very glad it was covered.
During the week they had my car, they loaned me a brand new Macan S with sports exhaust and speed chrono (or the "ASBO button" as I decided to call it!) It felt so much quicker and more responsive than my previous-gen Macan S -- I was worried that I would hate my car when I got it back, but my car feels much closer to the same speed as the newer one after the repair.
I wonder if it's my imagination though -- does anybody know if a faulty transfer box could affect the responsiveness or acceleration of the car?

The gen3 Macan S they lent you has a few more horses than your gen2 (375 v 348) which brings it in line with the Gen2 GTS, so indeed it should have felt a little more responsive.Blackhole128 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 11:25 am I bought my second gen (2019) Macan S in July this year. I saw a Facebook post which claimed that Porsche will now cover failed transfer boxes up to 10 years old. Is this true?

Was it UK or North America?
Generally Porsche North America seems to be more generous in these matters.

It was the "UK Porsche Macan Owners Group" on Facebook. However, why should US owners get better treatment?Wing Commander wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 6:11 pm
