There should probably be a dedicated 911 thread to ensure that members don’t get pissed off with what is ultimately off topic and then those who have moved to the model or are moving to the model can share their thoughts without hijacking other threads. Just a thought.

Good point VanB. I've felt guilty once or twice about hijacked threads and have tried to stick to original 911 posts in the off-topic area.

While digressions are often interesting we could do with being a bit more disciplined in 2018!

Oh, I don't know, most regular contributors on here either have a 911, have one on order, would like to order one, or used to own one and miss it terribly!

Indeed, in that case, why not have dedicated threads for all popular models in the Porsche range? It could potentially broaden the appeal without diluting the forum. There is plenty of discussion on here covering Cayman/Boxster/Cayenne/Panamera..

I thought that after I posted and think it would be a good idea. In fact it might broaden the appeal of the forum and keep people engaged who have moved away from a Macan to another Porsche model

OK Guys, Build slots!!! Just back from Belfast and the dealer in the new showroom, so much easier for me to get to. I got a really odd look from the DP when I walked in as it turned out they had just got notice of their slots for March / April and they were about to ring me for a spec confirmation.

Turns out they had been getting worried about a slot for my car as they tell me, LISTEN TO THIS!!!, that Porsche will not be producing any more petrol cars for three months after April builds, not just 911s but ALL Porsche models including Macans, something to do with meeting the latest emission targets.
Luckily I now have a build date of 14/03/2018 with lockdown on the 09/02/2018 and it is now officially in the system. Thanks to who ever it was that recommended that I add the GTS Alcantara package to give me the full leather interior while keep the GTS standard Alcantara. My latest and last spec should be shown below.
Some lovely stuff in the showroom ready for Jan2nd delivery including two new GT3s, very jealous. They also had a very nice New White Carrera4 GTS for sale in the showroom.

Glad that you've got your build slot confirmed and interesting to hear about the three month non-production of petrol Porsches! What will all those production workers do, I wonder...? Build diesels and hybrids...?!

Or maybe help with Mission E preparations?
