Never driven on a track before. Think I'm a bit too cautious a driver to benefit (?) (In queue for my first ever Porsche, the new, facelifted Macan S)

Don’t worry about the track bit - it’s really quiet and the instructors are super sensitive to get everyone feeling comfortable whatever their goals.
What it will do (track and ice hill / kick plate) is allow you to experience the traction limits of the car in a controlled environment so that, if the worst come to the worst in any of your future motoring, you will at least have experienced a skid / slide and have some confidence in your ability / the car’s capacity to influence the outcome.
