I sold my Oct ‘16 Macan SD with £14k of extra spec, £2.5k retrofit sports exhaust and ceramic coating in March 2018. At that point, it had 7,500 miles on it and was immaculate. Best offer I got was £42,500 from a number of different independents. Hopefully that helps. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks Nosmo, I remember reading this, I’m not a novice when it comes to selling cars, i buy and sell the odd older vehicle and know the many tyre kickers and potential wait time for the right buyer.....

I’m am not on the hook to sell so I have the upper hand on this one....

What I have an issue with is trying to figure out what a realistic price is as most of the car is based on options and most prices are calculated on base model so not a true reflection to the average punter who knows no difference.....

Someone once told me to take a % of the total cost of the options plus base price and go with that....it’s the % is the question mark....lol.....

Might try tootle and see what offers come in if any, will give me an idea of what dealers may offer with no obligation my end to sell....

Terry, I see the Belfast OPC has quite a few diesel Macans for sale but yours looks much better speced than any of them. Have you tried Hurst specialist buyer or cashforcarsNI?

I’m guessing 40k private. Tops.

I think you have to be very realistic here. You're swimming against the tide with a diesel in the first place and added options are usually significantly discounted. No one in a built up area will look at these diesels, they don't work. So your marketplace automatically is restricted. If you look on Autotrader there is a glut of them as well. You'd be best placed to get a few offers over the coming months and weigh up keeping it and using it more. Otherwise, you'll be taking a decent hit.

Yes Rab they have a couple but if as someone noted above seeking a £7k allowance on a trade in then going there is not likely an option.
Didn't try Hurst or even heard of cash for cars to be honest, will give it a try and see...

Certain areas such as NI and Scotland from what I gather see Diesel as more attractive options rather than Petrol - the market may be smaller but still there somewhat.....as you say, I may just end up keeping it, driving & enjoying it more and stop being a wuss....lol...

Not sure this is a good time to be offloading an SD as the 2nd hand values seem to have tanked? I monitor the prices on Pistonheads and allowing for the OPC £7k markup, it looks like my 15 month, 9.5k miler with £17k options (£65k) would be lucky to pull in £45k as a trade-in currently? I'm pretty much committed to this being an 8-10 year ownership vehicle.

The % for options is likely to be very low, but a high spec should make it easier to sell. All you can do is advertise and see what sort of demand it attracts. You really need a buyer who considers this to be their dream spec!

You'll get a link to the cash for cars guy from an add down the right hand side of the Used cars NI site. He's a genuine guy from east Belfast. I was going to sell my Touareg to him if I hadn't got a better offer from a trader I knew with a client waiting. Just a lucky chance but got me 1k more. The Hurst guys matched his price but not a penny more. I didn't like that so they weren't getting it. Both offers were a fair bit better than We buy any cars offer. Good to get an idea of what its wort in the trade even if you've no intention of going there.
