Alloy Insurance

Post by Fairynuff » Fri May 17, 2019 9:34 am

Six months after ordering, I'm picking it up next week. I'm hoping they throw in a boot liber but suspect that they will not! Amongst the stuff that I have received is a quote (I didn't ask for) for GAP insurance (£700) I nearly fell off my chair laughing. That said, I could be tempted by alloy insurance for those 21" 911's which look like they're asking for it. Any advice on the best alloys deals available?

I contacted Tidyalloys.. before My OPC made it part of the deal..

This is a transcript of our emails..

Would my 21" Porsche RS spyder diamond cut wheels be covered on your prestige policy ?

yes Andrew if the vehicle is less than 5 years old and 50k miles when purchasing. 3 years cover is £179.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I get my new Macan S in July so will be in touch closer to the delivery.. a few questions
Given the wheels are 21" and diamond cut how would they be repaired ?
Would they be too specialist to repair well ?
Do you offer tyre insurance ?
Many thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew,

if the damage is small it is still possible to repair at your home or work address. We have some highly skilled Repairers. It may be possible to use your local Porsche Centre as long as they give us a fair price to repair. We try to be flexible.

We do tyre, scratch and dent cover and gap insurance. Our rates on gap and scratch and dent are the best in the marketplace based on price and level of cover. For example 3 years scratch and dent is only £170 and 3 year rti or vri gap is only £170.Our tyre insurance is not the cheapest or best level of cover at £280. Furthermore I do not think it is a great policy as it only covers accidental damage or puncture repairs. If you have had less than 3 blow outs in the past 3 years then you would probably not need the cover.

I am back in the Office on Monday if you have any other questions. Enjoy the weekend if you are not working!

Regards,

Mark.
