My turbo has the black round exhaust tips.

Can someone recommend a cleaner and method to remove the soot and debris and get a nice finish?

Assume black tips don’t exactly “shine”
even when clean

Yes they should shine up very well. Autosol or Autoglym Metal Polish and a bit of work should help. There is an issue with black tips getting pitted around the ends but the exterior of the pipes should clean ok.

Autosol has my vote, use on my S3 silver tips - they go very black very quickly

I would go cautious to start with using Autosol on your black exhaust tips as it is an abrasive metal polish and works by removing the surface of the metal, as well as the oxidation. That said, the finish may be a ceramic type coating which is very hard and the soot and deposits will come off long before you harm it. An experienced detailer may have a better answer

Theres me diving in - do not use autosol on black tips it will wreck them. A bit of good shampoo and microfibre, weekly cream of course (if possible). We have the Macan GTS and black tips look spot on, apart from very small pit marks - we have 1st set changed at 6 months as where pretty bad.

I have just recently had my Black Tips on my GTS replaced under warranty as they got pitted.

I now clean very often with Auto Glyn Show Shine,

Autosol / Metal Polish will wear away the BLACK LOOK !!

Thanks - will get some autoglym, do you apply to the inside of the tips or just the outside?

Can see a bit of pitting but won’t judge until clean - will most OPCs swap under warranty?

you just need to drive faster so the soot will not stick to them.
