Found a nearly new Facelift Turbo with an almost identical spec to my own, thinking of a swap 🤔 Mine is now 4 years and 3 months with 36k miles and is very sweet but never kept our main daily more than 3 years, although my mileage no longer warrants a 3 year turnaround. My main concern is whether the new engine is actually an improvement on the previous or not? Going to have a test drive tomorrow but would appreciate members opinions on this one. If it’s positive, got a highly specced 2016 Turbo for sale 👍

Thank you Steve, not come across Andy Pilgrim before and a really excellent video. Don’t think I’ll be allowed anything remotely similar on my test drive. I’m informed it will be in convoy 😷 must dust off my old CB 😎

Will be interested to hear your report on the new model engine. What colour is the new one you are trying.

I think the 2.9li Audi power unit is impressive. The turbo’s ‘withIn the v” give good low down torque and it keeps on pulling right through the rev range. You can begin to hear a reasonable sound at 4K revs plus. To me the sports exhaust makes little difference.
I believe the design enables a lower centre of gravity and relatively low weight. Perhaps contributing to the better turn in. It just lacks the character of the old 3.6 Porsche unit, for example you won’t wake the neighbours on start up anymore. Guess it’s the price of progress, after all the next Turbo Macan probably will have no engine note at all!

I think this, once you past the first few minutes on US speeding tickets, is the best youtube I have seen on new Turbo and the scenery is better than German autobans.

Wish I could tell you how it went 🙄. A short but interesting tale, I spotted it on both Porsche UK and OPC site on Friday afternoon, called them up and booked an appointment for Saturday PM but when I went back to UK site on Saturday morning it was gone? Checked OPC site, still there? Then took an apologetic call from SE to say it’s sold. So I still haven’t driven one, although I did keep the appointment and took a look at the car. The colour interior and exterior is as my own although I do still prefer my current overall spec. So I guess there are a few customers out there ready to snap up the right car, good to know.

So I still haven’t driven one but after watching the excellent videos posted by fellow members 👍I’m not sure I need to. Furthermore, also received a decent trade in value considering it was from the OPC, now contemplating my next move 🤔
